Attorney J.P. McConnell

Attorney J.P. McConnell
After graduating from law school in 2012, J.P. McConnell began working alongside Syrians in their fight against Bashar al-Assad and ISIS. He worked closely with armed opposition groups under a license from the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control to help ensure they received the supplies and support they needed. He also worked directly with refugees, survivors of sex trafficking, and survivors of chemical weapons attacks across the region. In the years that followed, he carried that work into other conflict zones, helping communities resist authoritarian regimes and terrorist organizations. He sustained that focus for more than a decade and later returned to the practice of law to advocate for immigrants in the United States.
